As we mature, it’s sometimes difficult to balance our independence vs. dependence when it comes to significant others. Most successful people are fiercely independent, but this can actually be detrimental to relationships. Pride creeps in when we find it difficult to accept assistance from anyone. God gives us wisdom and strength, but He made love to bind us together as one family and one church.  Let’s stand on our own two feet, being a burden to no man as long as possible. However, let’s never become so proud and puffed up that we cannot accept help when we really need it.  In the end, (sharing) love is far more valuable to God than flaunting our own worth and independence.
