God is so faithful! As scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame (Romans 10:11, NIV). Do you have a need? Rest assured that nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37, NLT).  Let’s examine three (3) supernatural means that God utilizes to provide for us during challenging times. 

God shows up to provide for His people. In fact, He often utilizes a wealth transfer, a miraculous transformation or multiplication. 

In my own life, there have been many, many instances of God using a wealth transfer to meet my needs.  How many times have you cried out to God for assistance and miraculously someone called, showed up or gave you exactly what you prayed for! 

A WEALTH TRANSFER – One of God’s primary means of providing for us is through a wealth transfer. If you recall, when the Nation of Israel was released from slavery, God instructed them to ask their Egyptian neighbors for clothes and gold. God does not allow his children to leave empty-handed. 

Now the children of Israel had done according to the word of Moses, and they had asked from the Egyptians articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing. And the Lord had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered the Egyptians. – Exodus 12:35-36, NKJV

A TRANSFORMATION – A second means that God uses to provide is through transformation. During the wedding at Cana, Jesus turned water into wine.  

The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him, “They have no more wine.” 

“Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come.”
But his mother told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” 

Standing nearby were six stone water jars, used for Jewish ceremonial washing. Each could hold twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” 

When the jars had been filled, he said, “Now dip some out, and take it to the master of ceremonies.” So the servants followed his instructions. 

When the master of ceremonies tasted the water that was now wine, not knowing where it had come from (though, of course, the servants knew), he called the bridegroom over. “A host always serves the best wine first,” he said. “Then, when everyone has had a lot to drink, he brings out the less expensive wine. But you have kept the best until now!” John 2:3-10, NLT

THROUGH MULTIPLICATION – Finally, God often provides through multiplication. Jesus multiplied five loaves of bread and two fish to feed over 5,000 people! 

“Tell everyone to sit down,” Jesus said. So they all sat down on the grassy slopes. (The men alone numbered about 5,000.) Then Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks to God, and distributed them to the people. Afterward he did the same with the fish. And they all ate as much as they wanted. After everyone was full, Jesus told his disciples, “Now gather the leftovers, so that nothing is wasted.” So they picked up the pieces and filled twelve baskets with scraps left by the people who had eaten from the five barley loaves. When the people saw him do this miraculous sign, they exclaimed, “Surely, he is the Prophet we have been expecting!” – John 6:10-14, NLT

What is our part? How can we have faith that His provision is ours? 

1)    If we’ve repented of our sins and given our lives to Jesus, we are children of God, heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17, NIV). 

2)    Jesus told us, “You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it so that the Son can bring glory to the Father (John 14:13, NLT). 

3)    When we have not broken fellowship with God through unconfessed sin, we come boldly before the throne of God to seek help. Even in the presence of sin, God’s mercy endures forever (Psalm 136:1, EHV). We must never feel condemned; instead, we run to God, trusting in His love and compassion for forgiveness and deliverance.  

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. – 1 John 1:9, NIV 

God responds to us just as Boaz responded to Ruth’s request that he provide for her by exercising his rights as her family redeemer. Her mother in law was confident of Boaz’s integrity as she assured Ruth. 

Naomi replied, “Just be patient and don’t worry about what will happen. He won’t rest until everything is settled today!”  – Ruth 3:18, CEV 

We must heed the advice that Naomi gave Ruth. We must be patient and not worry about what will happen! The prayers of the righteous are powerful (James 5:16). When God hears faith-filled prayer from one of His children, He won’t rest until He settles the matter, even the same day! 

Obviously, our Lord has innumerable ways to comfort, rescue, and provide for us.  

For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. – Isaiah 55:9, NLT 

Let’s try to think “out of the box” and leave God room to answer our prayers in His timing and in His way. Our requests are safe in His hands. We can relax.
